The Society Salon is a premium colour salon in the heart of Rose Bay. We’ve been here since 2011 — owner-led from the beginning, and built around a single idea: that a salon can feel considered without feeling precious. Skilled enough to trust with a big change, relaxed enough to settle into for a few hours.

What We D0

We’re specialists in colour — balayage and lived-in colour above all — alongside cutting, styling, treatments and healthy-hair maintenance. Our approach is quietly technical and unhurried: every appointment begins with a proper consultation, because a result that looks effortless is the product of careful  planning, not luck. We colour exclusively with Wella Professionals, the world’s leading professional colour brand, which gives us the clean tones and precision a natural, grown-on finish demands.

The Team

Our work is only ever as good as the hands behind it, and ours is a team built on experience — a long-standing group of around fifteen, with our Directors and Creative Directors each bringing well over fifteen years behind the chair. That depth is what lets us read your hair, choose the right technique for it, and create colour that still looks considered weeks and months later. It’s also why so many of our clients have been with us for years.

The Space

Set inside a 220sqm former bank on the corner of New South Head Road, the salon was reimagined by acclaimed design studio Dreamtime — high ceilings, natural light, and a warmth that makes even a long appointment feel easy. Good people, good music, and a beautiful room to sit in while it all comes together.

Makeup is available at The Mezzanine with renowned artist Aeisha Philipson, and we offer a considered range of extensions — Great Lengths bonds, Seamless1 tape and Bellami wefts — by consultation
